SWECO WINS CONTRACT TO PLAN NEW RAILWAY IN NORWAY
Sweco Norge has won the contract for consultancy services in connection with planning and project support for a double-track line through Stange municipality. The contract has an estimated value of NOK 160 million, including options.
“We are very pleased that Sweco will be joining us in the work to extend the double-track line. They clearly have a good understanding of what the job involves and what is needed to carry out such a large-scale project. Sweco has provided a very good description of the working method and a plan for the assignment,” says Stine Undrum, Deputy EVP Construction Division at Bane NOR.
The assignment includes drawing up technical competition documentation for two major substructure contracts based on the Norwegian Total Contract, and two specialised performance contracts for railway technology. The substructure contracts include a new station at Tangen and rebuilding of Stange station.
“We are delighted to have been awarded the planning assignment for this project that is important for society, and for the confidence displayed in us by Bane NOR,” says Tor Helge Indrebø, Division Manager Infrastructure at Sweco Norway.
The contract also covers a number of options, including assistance in following up on the contracts during the construction phase and assistance with additional competition documentation for preparatory work.
