Combined Cyclo Power Plant in EC Gorzów Wielkopolski

In Gorzów Wielkopolski, commissioned by a consortium of Siemens sp. o.o. and Siemens Turbomachinery AB, in PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A., a new Combined Cyclo Power Plant unit is build. It will provide compliance of gaseous and particulate pollutants in the exhaust gases led out into the environment emisision with the requirements of the European Union.

Project description

The new unit will produce heat and electricity in the most efficient manner in one technological process (high-efficiency cogeneration). "By using the so-called combined system, energy efficiency installation will be up to 30% higher than in the case of electricity and heat generation in the traditional way. In the result emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the environment will be significantly reduced." - says Robert Chmieliński designer at Sweco.

The whole assignment was executed in BIM technology which allows to reduce errors at the design and execution, as well as the simultaneous coordination of all branches. Working this way is not a popular practice in Polish companies, however, experts from Sweco today introduce solutions that will be useful in the future.

Sweco office in Warsaw is responsible for the project, but the work involved also professionals with offices in Krakow and in Sweden. The whole assignment is actively consulted and designed by an international team of experts, so that we ensure implementation at the global level.

The project was started in August 2013, construction work started in January 2014 and completion is planned in May 2016. Currently finishing work.
