Hydraulic modelling and flow measurement

Many of today’s water and wastewater networks are becoming old and are in need of renewal. Meanwhile, climate change and stricter environmental legislation are imposing new demands on the management of groundwater and flooding risks, among others matters. Sweco possess solid knowledge and extensive experience of renewal planning and environmental impact, which guarantees cost-effective and sustainable solutions for our clients.

Hydraulic modelling entails simulating various scenarios using computer models, which allow flows in water and wastewater networks and watercourses to be analysed. This method helps us with such tasks as charting additional water, and predicting the effects of reconstruction and flooding risks. Hydraulic modelling is also a tool used to simulate currents and the spread of contaminants in seas and oceans.

Sweco’s experts conduct on-site measurements to calibrate and verify computer simulations of pipeline networks and watercourses. We also work with the measurement of water quality. All measurements are conducted systematically and quality assured.
