Job description
Position: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Sopot, Pomeranian, Poland (work in hybrid mode possible)
Responsibilities:
- Static calculations for various structural systems and experience with FEM-design;
- Quay structures (sheet pile walls with or without anchorage);
- Detailed design of steel structures including beams, girders/frames, sheet piles, welded and bolted connections;
- Detailed design of simple wooden structures (e.g. boardwalks and walkways);
- Detailed design of reinforced concrete structures including determining required steel reinforcement in beams and slabs/plates, and connections etc.;
- Geostatic calculations of foundations and piles;
- Interpretation, parameter derivation, and reporting of geotechnical field surveys;
- Design reports and risk assessment;
- Development of new processes, calculation methods, and our expertise in general.
Our requirements:
- 3+ years of experience within one within one or more of the following fields in preferred order: Geotechnical structures, Onshore/offshore wind foundations, Marine and water construction;
- Preferably M.Sc. in Civil engineering;
- Good knowledge of English, both in writing and speaking;
- Knowledge of on-site methods for construction to provide the client with the most optimal and efficient design;
- Organized approach to multiple repeatable calculations;
- Basic CAD skills to measure and sketch solutions in digital format (DWG/TEK);
- Relevant software: MS Office Excel/Word, Python programming language, GeoSlope, SPOOKS, FEM software (Autodesk ROBOT, ANSYS, DSNWinBeam);
- CAD-software: Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk AutoCAD, Grasshopper, TEKLA.
