The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Responsibilities:

  • Hydrodynamic and wave modelling;
  • Sediment transport, morphodynamics, and modelling discharges for EIAs;
  • Metocean analyses (operational conditions and extreme statistics);
  • Design of coastal protection solutions (nature-based, soft, and hard structures);
  • Concept development and technical advisory for coastal adaptation;
  • GIS mapping, strategic risk planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

What type of projects will you work with:

  • Large-scale coastal protection programmes, including sand nourishment and shoreline adaptation;
  • Climate adaptation and resilience strategies supporting long-term coastal planning;
  • Local erosion and coastal stabilization projects with direct real-world impact;
  • Marine infrastructure and outfall design projects.

Our requirements:

  • We are open to candidates with different backgrounds and levels of experience, but this role is particularly suited for junior profiles with around 1 – 3 years of relevant experience (consulting or research);
  • Hands-on experience within modelling tools such as MIKE / TELEMAC / HEC-RAS;
  • Basic understanding of hydrodynamic and wave modelling, as well as sediment transport and morphodynamics;
  • Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken);
  • Good to have: experience with XBeach or similar morphodynamic tools, EIA work, CAD skills (e.g. AutoCAD, Civil 3D), programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB, GIS).
