The Sweco Design Center Poland operates as an internal design center within the Sweco Group. It specializes in providing expert services in planning, engineering, architecture, and design across diverse sectors, including infrastructure, transportation, urban planning, construction, energy, manufacturing, and IT systems. The Design Center currently collaborates with three countries: Sweden, Norway and Denmark.
Structural Engineer (Steel)

Responsibilities:
- Design steel and reinforced concrete structures, including conceptual and detailed design of overhead transmission line towers and their foundations;
- Create and manage steel structural models and drawings;
- Perform structural and stability calculations for steel towers and supporting structures;
- Participate in design reviews and provide engineering support during construction and installation phases;
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and internal quality requirements.
What type of projects do you work with:
Projects involve the routing and engineering design of overhead transmission power lines, including feasibility studies, concept and detailed design, as well as upgrading and refurbishment of existing lines. The scope covers route investigations and topographical analysis, selection of appropriate tower types, and 3D structural design including span configuration, loading, and construction-stage calculations.
Our requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field;
- We are open to all experience levels within structural engineering and design of steel structures, ranging from 2 years to over 10 years of relevant experience;
- Experience in building or industrial steel structures is considered a strong foundation for this role, with transmission-infrastructure-specific knowledge provided through on-the-job training;
- Practical experience with Tekla Structures (steel modelling and drawing preparation) and structural analysis software such as RFEM, FEM-Design, Robot, STAAD or similar;
- Very good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Good to have: experience with towers or similar structures.
